Day Trip

Wed.23rd November. Starting our day at Carr Farm Garden Centre, there will be time to browse this family owned Centre. Plenty of choice and maybe find some stocking fillers. Nice Cafe for morning coffee. Then we are off to the popular Floral Pavilion theatre for an afternoon of relaxing in our stall seats and enjoying the Neil Sands show which is touring the country. Beautiful costumes, songs we all know, even real snow. Will get you on the right track for Christmas. Dep. 9.30 Ret 5pm Price: £27 Inc. Stalls seats

As there is only a short time available to complete the administration for the trip

Can I request those members that have booked for the above to either (a) Call in to the coffee morning on October 18th and pay the required amount for the trip (£30) or (b) forward a cheque for the amount to me at 2 Manion Close , Lydiate , Liverpool L31 4AD.

There is a waiting list for this trip and if payment is not received as above I will have to consider resorting to the “waiting list” to achieve the required numbers

October Ramble

12 intrepid ramblers set off on a wild and windy morning yesterday to undertake the 10 mile circular route from Anglezarke reservoir to Great Hill via White Coppice. The walk started in relatively calm weather with some bright sunshine and we walked through lovely woodland following the path around the edge of the reservoir. This is the largest reservoir in the Rivington chain which is fed by the River Yarrow, Previously supplying Liverpool, the reservoir now supplies water to Wigan. The water level had increased substantially since the recce was undertaken 3 weeks ago given the amount of rain that has fallen. This was also very evident further into the walk. Continue reading →

2022 Bowls Season

On Monday 26th of September our Bowls Group enjoyed an end of season competition followed by a hot buffet and presentation.

Competition winners Brenda Bevan and Roy Filby were presented with their winners trophy by the group’s nonagenarian member – Jack Daniels,
