Arrangements are in hand to visit the BUXTON CRESCENT EXPERIENCE. Set within the beautiful Grade 1 listed crescent building it consists of nine themed rooms that explore a period spanning 10,000 years. It covers the history of Buxton , the Crescent , Buxton Water and the people who have visited to take its cure and bathe in the thermal mineral water. We will take the PREMIUM GROUP TOUR which is an interactive tour including a virtual reality flight above the town during its Georgian heyday. We will rub shoulders with the regency high society before having their ailments cured by an 18th century apothecary. The tour ends following rainwater on a 5000 year journey through the Peak District before it emerges warm from the natural springs beneath the Crescent.
After the tour we will visit the Grade 11 listed Pump Room and see the sunken oval pool where the 5000 year old mineral water still rises from the ground , we will receive a souvenir glass bottle to “take the water” from the historic Lions Heads Well or St Ann’s Well to take home
