Day trips – dangerous for the figure?

We set off  from the Square for the Chocolate House at Blackburn . On arrival we were greeted by Susan and offered a choice of tea/coffee/juice or their own special recipe of hot chocolate as well as delicious chocolate buttons and truffles.  This was followed by a demonstration of dipping/decorating chocolates and a display of their special order goodies – amazing!  Even looking made you feel the calories piling on – all good for the figure.! Then a chance to enjoy more chocolate plus the truffles that had been produced in the demo. A visit to their kitchen gave us a chance to see special orders in progress – Easter Eggs nearly as big as us  and to try the various chocolate they use from dark sugarless to milder variety containing sugar.  There was a chance to visit the shop to buy goodies for Easter – will they last that long??

We re-boarded our coach and several commented on how many pounds heavier the coach weighed. A really great and interesting experience.  We travelled a short distance to the Haworth Art Gallery which is a beautiful  Edwardian Mansion that now contains the largest collection of Tiffany Glass outside the USA.  We had an introductory talk followed by a chance to wander and admire the stunning collection.  Back to the Music room for a welcome cream tea.  As the title says Day Trips can be dangerous for the figure but good for the intellect.  Once again thanks to Marj for all her hard work in the preparation etc. of another great day trip.   TK                                                                      .
