Architecture for Fun Wednesday 25th March

Arrangements are in hand to visit the BUXTON CRESCENT EXPERIENCE.  Set within the beautiful Grade 1 listed crescent building it consists of nine themed rooms that explore a period spanning 10,000 years. Here you will find Wordsworth’s home and Museum at Dove Cottage, the famous Gingerbread Shop where the recipe is a closely guarded secret, St.Oswald’s Church where Wordsworth and his family are buried, there is a Daffodil Remembrance Garden here as well. The Heaton Art Gallery, shops, amazing choice of coffee/eating places. For the energetic there is a walk round Grasmere Lake where you will come to Allan Bank, another Wordsworth home (NT Members free admission) or a stroll along the banks of the River Rothay. Visit Waterhead Jetty where the Lake cruisers leave, get the electric milk float bus into town, view the tiny House over the Bridge, shops, cafes and if you feel energetic it’s just a short walk to Stock Ghyll Waterfall falling 70ft.
