German Group Christmas meal
The German Group enjoyed a lovely Christmas meal on the Leeds Liverpool Canal on Friday. Despite a minor hiccup caused by a punctured tyre we all met at The Slip Way for pre trip drinks then boarded the barge. The weather was beautiful and the canal tranquil. Our helmsman pointed out some of the canal side wildlife and local historical landmarks. New members always welcome at the Thursday meetings 10am at Kensington House. Frohe Weinachten.

Wine Tasting Lydiate Village Centre Lambshear Lane
A very enjoyable afternoon on 11/12 2025 with some new Italian wines explained by our host Jon Atkinson , thanks to those who attended

Members to note that if a taxi has been booked it will leave Maghull Square at 12noon for arrival at the stadium for 12.45
Members who are making there own way there to arrive at 12.45 for a walk / tour of the Plaza
Tour of the stadium will commence at 2.00pm

Day Trips

Yes a lot of thank yous are due to everyone who has supported Day Trips and our Festive Break in 2025, to my “new” Assistants, my photocopying fairy, our photographers who take some amazing, memorable photos and at our Christmas Lunch to Derek who gifted our Santa hats and frightened us as The Grinch, Phil who serenaded us and to all who gave generously to our Woodlands collection in memory of an absent friend (£150) If I haven’t mentioned you thank you as well. Here’s to 2026.
New date for January Supper Club
Due to the change in the date of our next Coffee Morning, we have had to cancel the Supper Club on 15th January 2026 as there is not enough time to take payment and confirm menu choices to the Restaurant. We have rearranged it for Thursday 22nd January at 6pm at The Cricketers in Ormskirk.
We will be booking for this on Tuesday 13th January at the Coffee Morning. If you have your name on the list you will need to come in that day to pay (if you haven’t already) and choose your menu. Also if you have booked for 15th January and cannot make the new date please let us know or come into the Coffee Morning and your payment will be reimbursed .
