FANCY A SHORT BREAK IN DELIGHTFUL DORSET???

Mon.16th May to Friday 20th May 2016 – A 5 day/4 night break/ dinner/bed/breakfast plus 3 excursions has been designed for us by Airedale Tours.  Staying at the comfortable Crown Hotel in Weymouth which has all the usual facilities and  is close to the quaint busy harbour, town centre, promenade etc.

l. Forde Abbey which is a former Cistercian Monastery built in the 12th Century and now a family home with its’ fascinating gardens, treasures and houses the famous Mortlake Tapestries. Plenty to see/do here.  We will travel on to Abbotsbury,one of  the largest managed Swan Colonies in the world, recently featured on BBC Countryfile,  where we can see feeding time for over 600 swans.

2. Corfe Castle Model Village & Swanage Steam Train – Visiting the model village which depicts Corfe as it was in l646 then a short drive to Norden to board the steam train. A step back in time with glimpses of the amazing Jurassic Coast made famous by Enid Blyton, Thomas Hardy, BBC Broadchurch etc. Arriving in Swanage, a traditional Victorian seaside town with lots of interesting shops, alleyways, parks/gardens, pier and fabulous views across the Solent

3. Wimborne Minster with its magnificent Abbey colourful Town Square, charming hidden courtyards. Time to have a look round etc. On to Poole where we will find the famous Poole Pottery, Dolphin Shopping Centre and the RNLI Headquarters where we will have a guided tour of the Training College taking us behind the scenes to see how volunteer crews and lifeguards are trained.

PRICE: £368 includes all guided tours,entrance fees (maybe slightly altered as some 2016 entrances to be confirmed) First 7 Single Rooms No Supplement, thereafter negotiable, Free Insurance.
