WAMOT – walk a mile or two

What can we say?

After setting a ‘group’ walking target of 1000 miles in September it was decided to have another go in October.  Both targets achieved with miles to spare.  So then a new target of 5000 miles for the quarter (Sep-Nov) was set and, guess what, we hit 5111 miles.

It really is a credit to all 35 folk in the group for having a go. From the zimmer frame stroller with a mile at a time to the canal bank strider doing 5 miles a day its a brilliant achievement so well done to all and special thanks to Brenda for the sums.

‘side by side’ maps

Here is a link to a new type of mapping service from the National Library of Scotland that displays a map along side a photographic image of the relevant area. The maps and the images can be selected independently and the whole of the UK is covered

This may be of interest to various groups especially as some maps go back to 1885 and come in various ‘flavours’.  Enjoy

Hello and how are you all?

What a long time it seems since we met for our happy, chatty Coffee Mornings, wonderful day trips, holidays and all our special interest group meetings.

I sincerely hope you are all well but if you know someone who is not, for whatever reason,  please give me a call. I am sure they would be happy to receive a card on behalf of our U3A Committee and Members

With all good wishes  – Lill Boyle, U3a Welfare Officer  Tel.526 4303
