We are still awaiting an itinerary from Gary Friday which will identify the places in Liverpool , Cheshire and Manchester.

We will visit an area in Toxteth (not the previous visited) , Ellesmere Port Canal Boat Museum , Plaza Cinema in Stockport and maybe some others

Architecture for Fun Canal Cruise 28th March

A Mr and Mrs Bennett visited the AFF desk and were put on a reserve list , I have tried unsuccessfully to find there contact details. If they still want to take up the 2 places on boat 3 at 2.30pm please visit Jeff Martin at the AFF desk and pay the £35pp

I have now agreed 3 boats at both 12noon and 2.30pm , all boats are full except boat 3 at 2.30pm. 2 members have now paid for this boat and 4 members are to either forward a cheque to George or see Jeff Martin , the remaining 2 places are allocated to Mr and Mrs Bennett but if they do not take up the places , these 2 places will be made available to 2 other members if they wish to join us.

Jeff Martin will be on the Architecture for Fun desk to attend to members requirements

Book Club

The U3A Book Club has been meeting for 10 months with 14 members reading a variety of books chosen by the members. We have met each month and many of us have attended a book launch in Liverpool with Waterstones.

We are planning a weekend away later this year to visit the Hay-on-Wye Book Festival which will be open to all members – details to follow.
Watch this space for details of a new Book Club starting shortly …….

Book Club

Due to high demand a second Book Club is being established, which means the waiting list will be reduced. Unfortunately only people already on the waiting will be invited to attend. However if you are interested in joining the Book Club please leave your name at the Theatre Desk.

The new Book Club will meet in on Friday 8th March at 10.30 am.

Architecture for Fun Canal Cruise 28/3/24

I have managed to add a further 8 berth boat to the 12noon trip

All boats for the 12noon trip are full ie. 2×12 and 1×8 members

The 2.30pm trip has 2 boats with 12 members on each  , a further 8 berth boat can be added to the 2.30pm trip if  a further 8 members book places.

If a member is interested in taking up a place on the 2.30pm trip in the 8 berth boat please text George con 07826 048379 or come to the AFF desk on Tuesday 13/2 and pay

No an arranged visit  by us, just advise on a good exhibition at a great place. Especially in good weather, which it wasn’t today but being British we didn’t let it deter us.

Technology and science

The January talk on ‘pain’ by Bob was excellent. He described how our bodies sense pain and how we react to stimuli. Discussion then turned to pain relief and dependency.
