For the first time since December the Inbetweeners cycling group hit the road again. With just 3 of us, as sadly some of the others are unwell, we had a good circular ride from Maghull to Crosby and back. Enjoying a lovely takeaway coffee in the park on Marine terrace it was good to get back together in a Covid secure way. The weather was kind, with no prevailing wind which made the first ride even more enjoyable, with many more to come now we’re back in the saddle. Hopefully the legs wont be too sore tomorrow!
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the 13th Annual General Meeting of Maghull and Lydiate U3A will be held ONLINE at 10:30am on Tuesday 4th May 2021 to transact the following business.
If you are able to joins us online, please refer to the accompanying instructions regarding the registration process for the Online meeting. ZOOM Registration here
NOTE: Given the highly unusual circumstances, Committee have agreed that we will restrict the meeting purely to the formal elements required by our Articles of Association. The meeting will therefore be held using the Zoom video conferencing system to pass the resolutions detailed in the agenda set out below.
UNFORTUNATELY, due to the limitations of the Zoom polling system all votes must be pre-programmed into the system. Therefore we will be unable to accept points of order or amendments during the meeting as we would be unable to vote on them. As all of the relevant papers have been made available to Members, if you wish to submit a point of order or amendment to a resolution the Committee are happy to receive them in writing in advance. Similarly, if for whatever reason you are unable to attend the AGM you may also, if you wish, cast your vote(s) either by post or email. All of the above options must be returned to the Secretary by 12 noon on 19th April 2021 at the address detailed below.

Mary Prendergast writes to thank everyone who contributed to the great success of the Macmillan Coffee Morning last week which looks like breaking all records:
‘We had lots left over from the generous donations for the bring and buy and lucky dip I took a full car load of stuff to the Roy Castle charity shop and I’m sure they will be pleased at the quality of the ‘left overs’.Thanks to everyone, men as well, who baked all those really scrummy cakes that were lovely with the coffee. So many people helped out by giving their time or by selling various things on their individual tables (books, home made cards and gifts made by the textile group). One lady gave hand and arm massages while her friend did manicures. Another lady set up a table to sell off the many collector plates and tea pots that she had inherited but had no room for. Many of our local shops in Maghull donated vouchers or goods as prizes and they were so happy to support Macmillan. I am told that all the money has not yet been counted but is in the region of £2000. Wow! Thank you all. Our hard work was well worth it. Love and hugs to all who supported the event in any which way.’ Mary
