Yes a lot of thank yous are due to everyone who has supported Day Trips and our Festive Break in  2025, to my “new” Assistants, my photocopying fairy, our photographers who take some amazing, memorable photos and at our Christmas Lunch  to Derek who  gifted our Santa hats and frightened us as The Grinch, Phil who serenaded us and to all who gave generously to our Woodlands collection in memory of an absent friend (£116) If I haven’t mentioned you thank you as well.  Here’s to 2026.

Just a reminder that our Coach will depart from Maghull Square on Wed.10th December at 9.15am for a visit to the City of Chester and then on for our Christmas Lunch.

DAY TRIPS – ALFA TRAVEL – FESTIVE BREAK 10th to 14th November, Melrose, Scottish Borders. Due to sickness, a twin bed room has become available. 5 days/4nights D/B/B, at the comfortable Waverley Castle Hotel, Melrose on the Scottish Borders. The room has all the usual facilities. There is evening entertainment,   excursions + 1 lunch all included. Festive Break – Melrose, Scottish Borders – 10th to 14th November 2025

Travel packs for this trip are now ready to be collected. They will be available to pick up at the Day Trips table from Tuesday next 21st October Coffee Morning. They contain all the information you need  for your trip. If you are unable to pick up please make arrangements for someone to collect it for you. Cheers for a happy holiday.

We will start our day with a visit to the ancient popular City of Chester. There is plenty to see/do here. Lovely shops, variety of Museums, plenty of choice for coffee stops, the beautiful Cathedral and its’ Christmas Tree Festival – all the  trees are  decorated by local sponsorship to raise money for their chosen charity (an entrance fee  to the Cathedral has been introduced for this period at a cost of £3). Then of course the Christmas Market is on with plenty of stalls for you to browse. Then We are off to the 4☆ Rowton Hall Hotel and Spa Chester. Set in 8 acres of its’ own private grounds, this comfortable Hotel will accommodate us for a delicious 3 course meal, followed by tea/coffee/mince pies.
