Today we will be visiting the popular Town of Bala, set in the Snowdonia National Park and close to Lake Bala which is the largest natural lake in Wales. For the walkers there are lovely walks at the water’s edge and the Lake Bala Railway runs narrow gauge trains (£16.50 return) Bala is an interesting town with a good choice of Artisan Food Shops specialising in Welsh Food and Drink and local produce, Craft Shops etc many individually owned, there is no shortage of coffee/lunch stops either and don’t miss Arran Ice Cream Shop.THEN we are off to meet Erin at Pandy Farm. Erin is a 4th generation young Farmer. She has won BBC’s One Man and his Dog and is often on TV. She will demonstrate her skills with her lovely sheep dogs, they even herd ducks, followed by a talk about the value and processes of wool. We will finish with tea/coffee and home made, on the farm, Welsh Cakes. There is a Farm Shop and area selling local crafts.
WHEN? Wednesday 17th June 2026. Depart 8.30am Return 6pm. Price: £35 Inc. Demonstration/Tea, Coffee, Welsh Cakes. Seats are on sale. NB we will be visiting a working farm so appropriate footwear is advised.
