For the first walk of the year we usually stay close to home and given the mix of weather lately it was probably still a good idea. Alan had planned a walk that included some historical and other places of interest.10 Ramblers set off from The Meadows pub where the first account of the history of the location was given. Who knew that the first Grand National race took place here in the 1800’s?

Theatre trips

Some of our Theatre trips will have to be finalised at the Coffee Morning on Tuesday. If you have booked for : Open all Hours at Southport Theatre on Saturday 24th January, Pricilla Queen of the Desert at the Empire on 14th March or Miss Saigon at the Empire  on 30th April, can you please call in and pay for your tickets if you haven’t already.

Members to note that if a taxi transfer has been booked , it will leave Maghull Square at 12noon to arrive at the stadium for 12.45pm , there is a car park alongside the stadium ,

Members who are making there own way there by car , at the entrance to the car park , driver to state (ON A STADIUM TOUR WITH MAGHULL AND LYDIATE U3A)  arrive at 12.45pm for a walk/tour of the plaza , anyone who has purchased a commemorative tile will have time to locate there tile
