Lancaster University Art Experience   

Free talk and tour at the Peter Scott Gallery The gallery  houses a growing international  art collection which features work by 20th century British, European and Chinese contemporary artists; and is one of the most significant collections of Pilkington’s Tile & Pottery Company material in the UK.

We may even be allowed a hands-on experience?

Coach £24.00 based on twenty-five paying members. Lovely cafe on site. Meet at Maghull Sq. for a 09:00 departure. Return about 16:00. Please book at the Art Appreciation desk or contact Maureen.

Two places have become available for this local art venue.  Works by Bob Dylan etc are on show; with viewing accompanied by a glass of fizz.

Look no further, the best station in Great Britain is right here! With over 60% of the countrywide vote, Maghull and the Coffee Carriage walked off with the title.

The Metropolitan Police’s “Little Book of Big Scams” (5th edition) does not explicitly state its copyright information.More and more news of late regarding scams, particularly on-line. For those who missed the excellent presentation on ‘computer fraud’ there is a booklet published by the North West Regional Crime Unit that’s freely available and on line. Click link below:

Its full of useful information regarding scams, avoiding them and how to deal with them. The download is in PDF form. If you have issues with reading it then please contact the Digital Help Desk folk on the website.

New financial fraud rules become active on Monday 7th October.

Anthony Radcliffe wood engraving workshop.

We have been offered an extraordinary workshop by Kirkby Gallery and Anthony following our lovely visit today.

This workshop is back by popular demand following our visit in 2019.  Here are some of the works we created.

Anthony has created some of the most beautiful art work, and if you’d like to view some, log on to Kirkby Gallery website and type in Anthony Radcliffe.

November 14th has been suggested for our next visit at a cost £30.00 which includes materials. We have room for 15 members only. Lunch is not included. Please confirm your interest at our desk

 

St Johns Beacon and Dr. Duncans 21/11/24

Arrangements are in hand to take the lift to the top of St Johns Beacon for a 360 degree view of Liverpool and the surrounding area.

After which we will move to Dr Duncans , a fabulous and architecturally interesting public house on St Johns Lane where we will have private use of “the beautiful and historic tile room” where a buffet lunch will be served (a wide variety of drinks can be purchased at extra cost)

Members are to make their own way to St Johns Beacon (Time to be confirmed but in the morning)

Cost is £20 per member which includes entrance fees and lunch
