We currently have a large number of his novels for sale, both hardcover and paperback, all in great condition. And at our usual bargain price of 50p each or 3 for £1.
Donations of books in good, clean, saleable condition are always welcome, but because of lack of storage space, only up to five books at a time please.
All proceeds of our book sales are donated directly to the Woodlands Hospice, Aintree.

Dawn to Dusk . Jim Moir is Vic Reeves Art has always remained his first love and his original, eccentric and mischievous artwork has been exhibited at Institutions including the Royal Academy in London. The anarchy and wonderful eccentricity, which he is synonymous with, is evident in his bold, vibrant and often surreal artworks which merge his interest in the natural world and his witty imagination.
We are off to the lovely town of Shrewsbury. Full of character and interest. Plenty to see/do. Set on the beautiful River Severn. There is a big choice of Shops, Museums, Coffe/Cake venues, Ancient Pubs, Castle, Quarry Gardens, Riverside walks etc. Something for everyone. Probably its’ most famous son is Charles Darwin. THEN we will board the Sabrina Boat at Victoria Quay for a leisurely cruise along the River Severn. A guided commentary is provided plus tea/coffee/biscuits. After disembarking we will rejoin our coach for a guided tour of Shrewsbury. Our Guide will be Martin who has been Shrewsbury’s Town Crier for many years and at 7ft 2″ is the tallest Town Crier in the world. He will be in his full regalia. Sit back and enjoy.

One of our members – Patty Hearne, is hoping to set up a fortnightly quiz group. If you would be interested please put your name and u3a number in the comments box below this notice. We are hoping to set up an initial meeting at the Maghull Baptist Church on the 29th of July at 11:20; when more details we will be available.
Our Technology and Science group looked at the history and science of ‘plague’ at the end of June. We covered several pandemics around the world but, because the presenter is squeamish, the gory details were only scraped over.
But Channel 5 has given us the chance to relive the 1665 English events.
