CHOICE OF MEAL SLIPS
IMPORTANT Have just received the choice of meal slips for our 3 course meal at the Astley Bank Hotel on Wed.3rd July 2019. Please try to come to Coffee Morning next Tues.11th to complete. History For Fun 21st June
The next meeting for History For Fun will take place on Friday 21st June 2019 at Kensington House (Old Conservative Club near Maghull Station) at 2.30 to 4.00 pm.
The group will continue to meet on the 3rd Friday of each month. There will be a variety of topics and some lively discussions and input from all will be most welcome.
The topic on 21st will be British Eccentrics.

YORKSHIRE SPRING BREAK
It’s the largest County in England and often called “God’s Own Country.” Yes you are right we were in Yorkshire – 40 of us. Staying at the very comfortable Rendezvous 
Hotel, beautifully sited on the banks of the Leeds Liverpool Canal, with lovely countryside views, just 
outside Skipton. We did our share of sightseeing, through the Yorkshire Dales and Villages, out to the North York Moors and across to the Yorkshire Pennines. One evening our evening meal was served on the Hotel’s boat – The Dalesman. We enjoyed a 3 hour 
cruise while our delicious meal was served followed by tea.coffee/chocolates. A nice break with good hotel, good food and good company. The weather was kind as well. What more could you ask??

Nordic Walking 10th June

New Day Trip
Join us for a special day visit to Trentham Gardens, the Shopping Village and one of the largest Garden Centres in the country. On arrival we will receive our day ticket which will entitle you to wander as you please. In and out of the Gardens and Village. See the wonderful Show Gardens, Italian Gardens, Upper Flower Gardens, etc. etc. All beautifully laid out. As you stroll round can you spot the Fairy Trail with its’ interesting statues? Stockton Heath to Moore
Fourteen walkers met at the London Bridge pub on the Bridgewater Canal at Stockton Heath. The weather was warm and sunny so coats were left in cars. The staff at the pub let us use their facilities and we chose our meals before setting off across the A49 and along Mitchell Street to the canal towpath at Thorne Marine. July Ramble: Change of date
In order to facilitate a trip by the Architecture for Fun group, the July ramble to Dovestones will now take place on 11th July rather than the 4th. Further details will be posted in due course. The Easy Walk will still take place on 4th July.
