Hamilton
Some of our members have asked us to try to reserve tickets for Hamilton at the Palace Theatre Manchester in December. Unfortunately The stalls were sold out. However we have managed to secure some tickets in the Circle for Saturday 9th December at 2.30 which cost £92.50. This is more than we would normally pay and does not include the transport costs to Manchester which would be in the region of £20+ by Minibus with at least 14 passengers; so an expensive afternoon out! If you would like to book your ticket please pay by cheque at the Theatre Desk. The closing date will be the end of April. We will ask for the transport cheque when we know how many people are going.
We are visiting the Lake Gallery 52 Grange Road, West Kirkby on Friday June 15th 10 am. A lovely place in a lovely spot. Hope to see you there.
10 am train from Maghull Station to Central Station then onto West Kirkby train.
Donations apply as per usual. Book at desk with Maureen or Jan.
Dorothy Clive Garden & Bridgemere Garden Centre Wed. 5th April
Dorothy Clive Garden is set amidst glorious countryside where the borders of Staffordshire, Cheshire and Shropshire intersect. This beautiful 12 acre garden has evolved since 1940 when Colonel Harry Clive began landscaping a disused quarry for his wife, Dorothy Clive. Vistors to the garden will discover the great variety of form and colour and the fine views of surrounding countryside. Plant enthusiasts will find many unusual species. Dorothy Clive Garden is to be featured on BBC2 “Gardens World” sometime soon !!!
We will first visit Bridgemere Garden Centre, selling a Hugh range of top-quality plants etc. There is a garden kitchen cafe with refreshments which will delight !! with tasty light bites, sweet treats and finest coffee/tea. This should be an enjoyable day out.
The cost of trip is £22 – payable by cheque to Maghull & Lydiate U3A preferred – Depart Maghull Square 9am and return 6pm approx
