Cornwall Wine Tour 27/9 – 02/10 2025

Members tour packages will be available at the wine tasting desk from 02/09 , these must be picked up and actioned ASAP

These will include detailed itinerary , luggage label , timed itinerary , Healthcare Information (this must be completed by each member , placed in the envelope provided , the envelope sealed and then handed to George for retention , NB this information will only be accessed in the case of a “medical emergency , the sealed  envelope will be handed back to each member on completion of the tour , the first nights menu , each member is to complete there choices and hand this to George ASAP so that the hotel can be advised and finally , a list of the wines that will be available for dinner (George has requested whether “wine by the glass” will be available)

Fountains Abbey / Studley Royal Water Garden

Arrangements are in hand to visit the above NT property on 18th September

We will travel by luxury coach (8.00am departure) have a guided tour of the Abbey , time to have lunch/snack (not included) and then time to tour the water garden

Cost is £27 for National Trust members and £47 for non members

AFF Monday 28th July Lyme Park

A previous notice has been published and notices (2 No.) were left on notice boards at the U3A coffee morning last Tuesday 22/7 advising of the following

The coach will leave promptly at 8.00am , members are to arrive in time to board the coach , no allowance will be made for “late arrivals” as we need to be at the property for the first “guided tour” to commence at 9.45am

Calke Abbey Ticknall Derbyshire 28th August

Arrangements are in hand to visit the above  National Trust Baroque – style Mansion with peeling paintwork and abandoned rooms portraying the dramatic decline of a Country House Estate

Explore the tunnels between the brewhouse and the cellar where you can see large mash tuns which produced the beer

Explore the ancient parkland , listen for wildlife and soak up the fantastic  views along the way and much more

Return travel by luxury coach , entry to the Mansion (self guided tour) , tunnels and parkland

Cost is £22 for National Trust members and £43 for non members , (a place will only be guaranteed upon full payment)

Lyme Park (National Trust) Monday 28th July

Arrangements are in hand to visit this house for the first time where many productions were filmed , Pride and Prejudice ,  The Forsyte Saga , Brideshead Revisited , Far from the Madding Crowd ,etc

It had been in the possession of the Leghs of Lyme since 1388 until 1946 when it was given to the National Trust. The ticket includes access to the Mansion House (a guided tour included) the  Deer Park and the Gardens

There will be luxury return coach travel from Maghull Square and all entry fees.
