Architecture for Fun Cromford Mills 27/11/ 25
Please note that the Coach will depart from Maghull Square at 8.15am prompt. Please arrive in sufficient time to board the Coach

Wine Tasting 11/12/25 at 2.00pm
The above is to be held at Lydiate Village Centre on Lambshear Lane in Lydiate. There are only 12 places now available. The cost is £15 per member (see previous post for further details)

Architecture for Fun Christmas Lunch 17/12/25

Wine Tasting (Italian Wines) Thursday 11/12/25
Arrangements are complete to hold the next tasting at Lydiate Village Centre , Lambshear Lane L31 2LA , a welcome return to our original venue
The venue will be laid out with 4 tables and all members will be seated with place settings ie. paper plate , napkin and tasting glass. Each table will be asked to visit a separate table to obtain their food and “first wine ” , as each wine is made available , again , each table will visit the separate table to obtain the next wine.
Jon Atkinson has agreed to continue his “excellent tastings ” and will be in attendance to provide the wine and provide us with informative detail on each of the wines
The hall has to be hired and an “alcohol license” obtained for us to hold the event at the Village Centre. There are limited places available as we can only be accommodated in the small room
Cost is £15 per member , places are available on a first come , first served basis , only when payment is received will a place be guaranteed
Architecture for Fun Christmas Lunch
Arrangements have been agreed to hold the lunch at the Academy Restaurant at The City of Liverpool College , Tradewind Square , off Duke Street Liverpool L1 5BG on Wednesday 17th December at 12 noon
Cost is £32 per member for 3 courses (4 options are available for each course) coffee/tea and mince pies
Consideration will be firstly given to those members who have regularly attended Architecture for Fun trips throughout 2025

Palm House Sefton Park 23/10/25
Members who have booked a taxi transfer are to note that the taxi leaves Maghull Square at 10.30am , please arrive in time to board your taxi
All members should arrive at approximately 11.15 am at the Palm House as the tour starts at 11.30am
Tea/coffee and cake will be served after the tour
Members will then proceed to 25 Aigburth Drive by approximately 1.45pm

AFF – Cromford Mill 27/11/2025
I have now got detailed costs. Trip cost is £41 per member which includes transfer by luxury coach , the “Mill and Village Tours plus Arkwright Experience”. The Mills are grade 1 listed and part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site . The tour will last approximately 2 hours15 minutes
There are going to be lots of independently run shops where Christmas merchandise will be available
There is the availability of having a “soup and scone lunch” consisting of soup selection (one type) , homemade savoury scone , bite size cake selection and tea/coffee . Additional cost of £8.75

Architecture for Fun Cromford Mill Matlock
Arrangements are in hand to visit the above on Thursday 27th November . it is an 1800’s water powered Cotton Mill.
We will travel by luxury coach and have a “Mill and Village Tour plus Arkwright Experience.” This is Richard Arkwright , an English Inventor (he improved the “spinning jenny” invented by James Hargreaves) and was a leading entrepreneur
Lots of shopping available run by small independent businesses in the Mill. There is food available and details can be provided

CORNWALL WINE TOUR
I was advised by one Member this morning that she has “tested positive for Covid” upon return from the break I would advise all other Members to take a test to determine if he/she “tests positive”
