This is the scam about winter fuel payments. I had 2 more of these today!
Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Official Notice
The system has confirmed that you have been included in the eligible group for Heating Allowance for the 2025-2026 financial year and will receive a one-off payment of 300. This payment will be paid directly into a nominated bank account once your application has been approved.
However, we have not yet received a record of your application. To ensure you don’t miss out on this payment, please complete your application by August 21st, 2025, or it will automatically be considered abandoned.

There is also a scam text message about applying for winter fuel payments. You DO NOT have to apply. Anyone eligible will automatically receive the payment. DO NOT click on any links. Report scam texts to 7726 for investigation.
