Today’s Christmas concert overcame some technical issues to provide a brilliant end to our u3a year.
The children from St George’s RC School sang their hearts out putting us all in a Christmas mood with their festive medley.
Our University Challenge sketch proved that often the audience know more than the teams (well it did today!) The contestants did their best but our own Bamber Gasgoine wasn’t impressed!!
We then had a repeat visit from the Aughton and Ormskirk Guitar Group. Their music had toes tapping and arms waving, with our voices lifting the roof.
Reverend Ralph gave the blessing before we all joined in with an energetic rendition of the Twelve Days of Christmas. Many thanks to all who took part and helped.
We raised £670 on the day and added to the Book Sales collection of £150.00 meant we handed £820.00 to Woodlands Hospice. 🥳
A lovely, successful finale to our busy year. A lot of hard work and time went into organising it. Thanks to Jane and all who took part. It was brilliant.
Thanks Marj
Well done Jane – most of this was due to your hard work and organization. What a brilliant result for Woodlands. Merry Christmas!
Thank you Elsie so glad it all came together on the day
Thanks Hazel
It was a great morning, enjoyed every bit of it and raising a decent amount of money for Woodlands was the icing on the cake . Well done to the Committee for all your hard work
