I will get on at the stop just before at 1122. The last 133 bus leaves Waterloo at 1712. Alternatively you could catch the train and change at Sandhills. Look forward to seeing you then.
On Friday 29th June we will be having a pub crawl around the Hardman Street area of Liverpool. Please meet in the Lime Kiln from 1230. We can have a bite to eat here and then walk up to the Grapes on the corner of Knight Street and Roscoe Street. From here we will walk up Hardman Street and left on to Hope Street to the Pen Factory. We will then retrace our steps and visit Mackenzie’s and on to the Dispensary. Hope to see most of you on what should be a really good day out.
On our next meet up on 25th May we will be visiting the many micro pubs and bars in Southport. We will be catching the 300 bus from around 1130. The bus is due to arrive at Woodend shops (just before the Meadows pub) at 1131 so you should be able to work out what time you should get to your nearest bus stop. We last visited Southport in November last year but the weather turned nasty cutting short the crawl. Let’s cross fingers for a kinder day weatherwise this time!
Eight of us met up in the Ship and Mitre where we had a couple of pints and lunch. We then had one in The Vernon Arms, the Lion Tavern and finished in The Railway.
A great day was had by all starting with a hearty breakfast in the North Western then on to Connoisseur Brewery and The Cricketers which won Pub of the Year 2017.
February – I cannot believe that it is two years since the Real Ale Appreciation Group first met up in Frank Hornby! As we did last year we will have this month’s gathering there on Friday 23rd February from 1230pm.
March – There will be no meet up in March as I am away on holiday but there will be two meet ups in April.
April – On Saturday 7th April I am planning another visit to Connoisseur Brewery in St Helens. We will be catching the 1100 train from Maghull in time for the 1147 from Lime Street. If people want to we can also visit a few local real ale pubs. This was a really enjoyable day last year and the pork pies sold at the brewery are delicious! On Friday 27th April we will travel into Liverpool and visit the pubs around the Dale Street area. Meet in the Ship and Mitre at 1230.
Firstly Happy New Year to you all! Our first meet up of the year will be on Friday 26th January at 1230 in the Court Leet, Ormskirk. From here we will visit Tap Room No 12 (formerly the Hop Inn) and then probably the Farmers Club. We will finish the day in the Cricketers.
Here’s to another year of good beer and great company!
YACP – Yet Another Christmas Party !
A dozen members turned out for the Christmas session on Friday.
We started in the Frank Hornby with a table moving session that finally got us all seated together. After a couple of drinks we moved on to Brenda and Johns where we sipped and supped until after dark in a very relaxed session. Excellent !
Thanks to all for making it happen.
