Practical Gardening 

Our next meeting is on Monday 7th at Maghull Parish Hall 120.15 am. Members will be delighted to know that Norman Conway whose lovely garden we visited recently, has joined our group and also taken over the gardening table at coffee mornings.   Lots of great advice available there all. 

Diaries:

If you wish to purchase a 2020 diary please add your name to the list on the membership desk. The cost of diary is £3;25. Please pay on ordering. List will close after last meeting in October after which time diaries will be ordered. This new system is to prevent a recurrence of the waste experienced last year.

Walking groups:

Both groups are out on Thursday 3rd October.

Easy walkers please meet at Maghull station to catch 9;46 train. 6 mile flat walk from Freshield to Formby.

Ramblers: 10 mile ramble in Cheshire. Mostly flat but ascent and descent in middle of walk. Pease bring snack to eat midway, Pub stop for bar meal and drink at end of walk. Please meet at Baptist Church car park at 9:30 to leave at 9:45.

Theatre 

Bookings are being taken for New Years Eve at the Philharmonic, and also Miracle on 34th Street at the Liverpool Playhouse. Please see the Theatre Desk for further details.

New Garden visit

Brookhouse Mill. Denbigh and Tweedmill Wednesday 23rd October

  • Tweedmil Outlet centre for shopping /tea/coffee
  • Brookhouse Mill a restored 17th century flour mill in a picturesque setting for three course lunch 
  • Leave Maghull square 8.45 return approx. 5pm

  1. Hi – can I please ask to make clear the difference when making announcements, between DAY TRIPS and GARDEN VISITS. As a result of information given out in the Coffee Room l.l0.19 about a GARDEN VISIT (23.10.19)which was described as a DAY TRIP – I have had several telephone calls asking if my date – 16.10.19 has been changed.
