animated-nordic-walking-image-0014[1] 10 MILE CHALLENGE – Sat 9 th. Sep

Calling all Nordic Walkers. In order to celebrate the Year of the Sefton Coast 2017, Active Sefton have organised a series of challenges for walkers, including Nordic Walkers, to take part in, and enjoy our wonderful coastline. The walks are free to join and no booking is required. Just turn up and join in.

The Nordic Walk 10 Mile Challenge will take place on Saturday, 9th September 2017, meeting 10.30am at Formby Library. The circular walk will be along the Formby Coast and woodland, with some sand dunes thrown in to up the challenge. There will be a picnic lunch break at Formby Squirrel Reserve at 12.30pm (lunch and drinks not provided). The route will then continue on to Formby Beach by Cabin Hill Nature Reserve and then head north to Freshfield, leaving the beach at Fishermans Path. (This section may be subject to change due to the current closure of the unmanned railway crossing at Fishermans Path). The route will then return to the Formby Squirrel Reserve, past the Asparagus Fields to Formby Point and will finish at the library.

Hope to see you there,

Ian
